The news being repeatedly highlighted by many newspapers and television news channels that India's position is third among countries most effected by COVID-19 is absurd and grossly misleading. As per the data released by WHO (https://covid19.who.int/), the percentage of Covid confirmed cases in India as a percentage of the total population is only 0.05% (i.e., 5 persons out of 10000 persons), which is one of the lowest in the world. This is in sharp contrast to very high incidences of more than 4% (i.e. more than 4 persons out of 100 persons) in countries like USA. Highlighting only the numerator and keeping quite about the denominator is totally misleading and misrepresenting.
